The mobile apps for Zoopla and Primelocation passed the 8.5m milestone this week, with the former moving into number two spot in the lifestyle ‘chart’ of the Apple App Store.
The 8.5m figure includes combined iOS and Android app downloads, and comes as ZPG says that in October it received a new high - 72 per cent - in terms of mobile traffic as a proportion of its total traffic.
The Zoopla and Primelocation apps both rank in the top 100 most popular apps in the Apple Store.
Zoopla’s ranking of second in the lifestyle category, with a four-star user rating, places it above Rightmove, which is ranked fifth with a 2.5 star user rating, and Primelocation which is ranked at number 88 with a 4.5 star user rating. The OnTheMarket app is ranked at 136. with no user rating.
A statement from ZPG says that with over 72 per cent of all visits now via mobile devices, the performance indicates “strong brand awareness” for member agents.
“Mobile continues to explode and consumers naturally turn to their mobile devices first for property related search and research on the go. We are delighted with the significant number of app downloads we have reached along with our consumer ratings and pleased we are able to offer our partners and their client’s properties the widest possible exposure across all mobile devices” says Mark Goddard, ZPG Property Services managing director.
Earlier this week Rightmove announced it was hiring a specialist firm to improve the performance of its mobile app.
